This week is going to be “Why I love one paragraph week” at Ragamuffin Ramblings. Each day I will use one paragraph to define why certain people and things are my favorites. I would love to get your paragraphs for your favorites as well.
I’m gonna kick off the week with my favorite author: Brennan Manning.
No other author has done for me what Brennan has been able to do; take God’s grace, mercy, and ludicrous love out of my theology classes and books, and tenderly shoved them into my heart. I grew up in the Christian Church. I knew correct answers and regulations, but I had never been ambushed by the furious love of God until I first read The Ragamuffin Gospel my sophomore year of college. I have soaked up Brennan’s writing ever since.
Favorite Books by Brennan: The Ragamuffin Gospel, Abba’s Child, Wisdom of Tenderness, The Importance of Being Foolish, The Boy Who Cried Abba, Ruthless Trust

In ONE PARAGRAPH, why do you love your favorite author?
One paragraph on Shakespeare? I’ll do it in a sentence.
I love Shakespeare because it was my gateway to loving and being in theater and the beginnings of writing poetry for me.
way to overachieve! Geez! I’ll respond with one WORD: thanks
Haha you’re welcome
This post made me realize I am disconnected from literature these days. I cannot claim a favorite author. I used to say Kurt Vonnegut, but it has been almost a year since I’ve read anything he has written. My favorite book is “Autobiography of an American Girl,” a novel by HT Hamann… but it is the only novel she has published. A masterpiece, indeed, but I still hesitate to say she is my favorite author overall. I love Donald Miller, but honestly who doesn’t? If I were to choose an author I write most like, it is him. I am not claiming to mingle among his talent, but rather that my brain shares some sort of wavelength with his – I have found several of my thoughts within his. Maybe that’s why I love to read his stuff. It is comforting. Well, there’s my paragraph.
Donald Miller really is fantastic
